    Trip to Whitewater Falls

Allright today is the day. For the last 6-7 months I have been trying to make it a point to at least go out once a month for a trip. It started in a tent and now I am using the grandest form of nocturnal pleasure, a hammock. I have been taking a couple of guys with me each time and each time the number grew with the amount of guys wanting to go. So as soon as work is over we are heading on up there. Hopefully we can get the perfect side right beside the waters. I will update tomorrow with pics and a report, also a picture of my new DIY under quilt (cheap crappy thing I made from a rectangle bag). So wish us luck.

Allright, well we all made it back healthy and warm. We didn't arrive to the site until about 7:00 PM but that gave us enough time to unpack and take a trip to the top of Whitewater falls. You can see my cheap DIY under quilt in the pictures. I still have some modification to do to it. After hiking through the river to see the falls we decided to fry some fish and start a fire. Unfortunatly everything was soaking wet so our fire starting attempts were for naught. I believe it got down to about 45-48 degrees overnight. I will say that between the under quilt and my bag I ended up sweating. I eventually used my bag for a top blanket. The other guys said they were warm using there own methods but I will put my good money on a under quilt. As soon as I can I am going to get a New River from arrowhead. In the morning we decided we would ride up to Gorges state park and go off Turtleback falls. I will say that was a strenuous hike for someone out of shape. We saw Rainbow falls on the way up and then took a couple of turns off of turtleback into the freezing water before realizing we were hungry for lunch. So there it is. Next time I think I am going to find a way to video the hike and camp on some sort of camera. But until then enjoy the pics.
