Great idea!
I've got a hammock on my porch, one in my van, and my camping rig. Swapping under quilts around is getting old, and I have a couple of neglected sleeping bags, just taking up space.
I may try a Lash It whoopie in place of the 550...seems like that would be an easy way to dial in the length.

I'll set this up in the morning and get some better pics of the connections and all.
So is having a hammock stand in your dining room, the western version of having a couch on your front porch?
Really cool btw, under quilt on the cheap.
LOL... Well, I'd put it outside, but its still hitting over 100f daily, and that thing REALLY sucks to try and setup on when its scalding hot.
Besides, where else would I be able to take a nap mid day in the hammock when its so hot outside.
Here's a link to those clips. Like the shark look!!
Here are some more pics...
Bag I'm using Zipped, she's a big bag...
Unzipped, really big...
The bag hang line. This is what the sides of the bag are draped over.
Closeup of how I connect the hangline to my hammock suspension. Soft Shackle goes through end channel on hammock, fixed whoopie through that, then another soft shackle connects the long whoopie for my ridge line. I run the underquilt hangline through the fixed end of the whoopie. The hangline has a fixed loop on one end of the line (Perfection Loop Knot) and I just run the free end through the loop, pull tension to what I need and then tie 2 slippery half hitches one inside the other. This makes it secure, it wont slip, but the knot can be pulled out by just yanking on tag end of the line even after being weighted. You can see this better in the head end suspension photo.
Drape one side over the hangline. I can do this without putting the bag on the ground, but its hard to take pics of that at the same time. The bag hasn't had much time to loft back up after coming out of its stuff sack yet...
Drape the other end over to make the "M" shape... Once you have the clips connected, pull the middle so there is more droop and less hang over, this will make a nice shape once you're in the hammock. You can adjust all that once in as well.
How the head end is strung up and connected. Small biner through the fixed end of the whoopie, both the draw string and the shock corded tarp clips connect to that. I draw up the head end a bit to keep the heat in.
Foot end. Same as head but no draw string. I leave the foot end zipped up a few inches to close that up as well. I added a loop of shock cord to the zipper pull and run that to the shark clip, this keeps the bag zipped up.
Here is the whole hanging mess without me in it...
With me in it...
Here is the whole "kit" to hang a bag as an underquilt. 2 Small biners, Stuff Sack, 550 Paracord Hangline, foot and head end suspension and center suspension.
I was curious how much it weighed... 8oz w/o sack
Sack weight
Hope that helps...
Great pics, Good, clear explanations. Thanks!

Great solution. Thanks for sharing. I still feel a need to challenge myself and try some sewing first though.
