    Pulled the trigger

    Hi guys:

After lurking around for a few weeks doing research, I finally settled on the Claytor Jungle Hammock. Just ordered two today.

I'm 6'5" and about 200#, so I needed something with plenty of room and the Claytor seems perfect. Plan on using them for backpacking around the Ozarks and primarily for float trips (I'm a kayak fisherman as well). Overnight float trips generally entail camping on gravel bars, so I am really looking forward to getting off the ground!! I imagine the shakedown cruise will be on a backpacking trip, though, as we have been absolutely inundated with rain this spring and it will probably be a while before the rivers are back in shape.

Thanks to all for the great information!

Welcome to HF. I think most of us newer members spend a lot of lurking time! And you are absolutely right, there is a wealth of information available here from some pretty talented folks.

Hope you enjoy you new hammocks. You'll be waiting for the delivery man every day, like a kid at Christmas!

    Me too, woo hoo

I just took the plunge as well, ordering two JH by Claytor. The wife and I guide canoe trips in Northern Lower Michigan and look forward to hanging while our guests deal with tents. Someday we may offer the hanging option to them as well. This forum has been extremely helpful to me. Looking forward to it.
