Thanks for the info about Brian's health + delays + SpinnUL scarcity.
According to that same thread (or maybe another in that forum) there are a couple other manufacturers who might still have SpinnUL available. I'll be emailing them to see if they have stock & what the QC looks like.

I agree that the problems with sil are overstated. It is a good mix of price and protection. However, I have seen that even good quality sil can "spit" a little mist at you. The first time I used my MacCat Deluxe, i got little "flicks" of water on my face in a fierce downpour. It hadn't been raining long enough for water to run down the ridgeline (i'm pretty sure). It also wasn't coming directly from the middle of the tarp where the ridgeline was. I just read a good post on another topic that suggested hanging sil a little looser. I will try that next time. The bottom line is that misting seems only to occur in a really heavy rain and the misting I saw was a very very very small annoyance and is not a concern of mine. I like the sil and am sticking with it.
