Help with doing a mod of the BB tie-outs

I have a BB that is about 2 years old and I want to move the tie-outs that are attached to the net (zipper side) and move them to the body of the hammock.

I know that I saw a post or video a long time ago of someone that moved the tie-out's but, I can't find that post or video. Seems pretty straight forward but I don't want to take a chance and ruin the bird so I'm looking for help.

Has anyone done that mod and if so will you post the details of what I need to do?

    Thanks all. KP

I would suggest that even if you add tie-outs below the zip, you leave the old ones there too. They are there for a good reason, which is to keep the net off your face. Tie-outs below the zip would be great for when the net is off, but when I'm all zipped in, I can't imagine being too happy with the tie-outs anywhere other than where Brandon puts them.
It's bad luck to be superstitious.

That's one of my concerns but I'm thinking that once it's zipped up the net will still pull out and away since it's still going to follow the zipper. But I don't know. Might need to experiment using temporary pull-outs. Hopefully someone that's done it or maybe Brandon himself will chime in to offer some suggestions. Thanks for your thoughts though. KP

Try Grip Clips for a temporary solution to see if you like it before you start hacking up your BB.

I would PM ChillinOut, he sewed on additional grosgrain loops below the zipper and moves the pull-out lines using s-biners, as mentioned in this post. He may be willing to send you some pics as far as placement is concerned as well as any lessons learned.

Hey thanks for the link to the post Cc. A few minutes ago I tried using a couple of grip clips and they did very well. There was a tiny bit of net sag where the net is supposed to be pulled out but totally doable and livable. Using s-biners like ChillinOut or even soft shackles to clip and unclip the net as needed would solve the minor net sag but that's just more stuff to carry and fiddle with. Anyway, I decided to let it be. At least for now. I need to get in more practice with my new thread injector before attempting to put teeny holes in the BB.

Thanks again for the link. That's the one that I was thinking about. KP

Thanks HC. Nice. That's what I have in mind. Except for the attaching and detaching thing. Now to decide whether I really want to do it. Decisions, decisions. Thanks again for taking the time to post your pictures and posting the link to them. KP

Ah, I actually went in search of your post and found the other one. No wonder I was confused that there was less information than I remembered and no pictures. Thanks HC!
