Anybody know about water sources other than the .4 mile steep hike at the Ed Garvey shelter? Just trying to plan. Plenty of water sources along the way or scarce? It's been a long, long time since I was on that section and I can't remember stuff like I used to.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.
Two Tents-
I do not recall any springs past the Garvey shelter -> Gathland & I don't think there are any Harpers Ferry to Garvey (except canal & river!)....
I don't blame you for not wanting to go down the hill at the shelter.
Just seeing this Hang and the pre-hike ...I'm staying in Boyertown, PA. working here from Fla. Are you planning on hiking out of HF on Thursday ??..I have my gear and pack with me ... looks like Ed Garvey is about mid point ... I don't mind making the hike down the side trail for water ... would love to hike and hang with you.

Some of us are leaving Harpers Ferry on Wed. Another group is leaving Fri. Stay tuned. I'm sure there will be a few doing a Thur also. Gonna be a easy hike. You could probably catch us leaving on Thur. We are in no hurry with not far to go each day to arrive at MAHHA on Friday sometime.

I don't know the exact plan or if there even is one. I would guess that we wouldn't go any further than 1/2 way or less. It is a pretty short hike no matter how it gets split up. Best I can tell ya is watch the thread and see what gets planned. I'm thinking it is a pretty flexible itinerary. The single water source looks like it will factor in to where we stop too. We should be arriving in the morning sometime Friday at the main MAHHA hang area.

More than likely I won't be making this. I had the privledge to hike with MML and SweetBabyD for kast springs prehike and they were great company. I hope you all have a great prehike.
