I know we met at a friends house and went to dinner at that fancy restaurant but that is not how I remember it in my head. WAY too dangerous: the odds of the Missus saying I should just buy a $200-$300 piece of gear are stacked against me--crushingly so. Likewise, the odds of her demanding I stay the heck away from her sleeping bag are astronomically high. If I don't mention it and I get caught--trouble; if I do mention it, she says no, I do it anyway and get caught... I've only got two choices from there--do I go gently into that dark night, or do I rage, RAGE against the dying of the light? (I usually just go gently).

I think they say "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to drive yourself to the emergency room with a concussion, a contusion or two, and multiple lacerations." or something like that.
