    "Scrap" DIY Projects

Hey I was just trying to think of projects that I can use my remnants for...maybe we can compile a list of what others use them for as well? Here are some of the basics...

    1.Stuff sacks
    2.Bear bags
    3. Bishop Bag
    4. Pack Cover (Jeff's multipurpose - nice item!!)

Unfortunately thats all I can think of right now off the top of my head

I have a decent amount of silnylon, heavier coated rip stop, and some bug netting and would like to put it to work!

I'm currently working on a down hat prototype out of 18inx25in 1.1oz/syd Ripstop (not really a scrap piece), about 0.5oz of down, and a stretch fleece.

If this works out I'm going to use a real leftover piece of Pertex Quantum for the shell which I used for my very first topquilt.

How about a hammock flag to hang from your suspension or ridge line.

Skins for tarp storage, frost bib (from fleece scraps), gaiters (for legs and for the neck), mittens... . That's all I can think of that hasn't been mentioned already. Good thread!

I like the idea of the organizer and the gaiters.

I do need me some gaiters, I guess ripstop would work for that. Hmmm.

Also a peak bag would be doable.

I made a few beer cozy's out of some scrap reflectix. Whoopie sling dog leash from scrap amsteel - whoopie key chain from scrap dynaglide - You can always make another stuff sack - OH!! DIY Black Rock style hammock pillow I keep mine attached in my WBBB I never hang without it.
Because you fall through the clouds if you try to lay on them, so the next best thing is a hammock.
