    Officially Hammock-less again...

Well, I have owned a WBBB and an HH Expedition. Both were nice Hammocks with great craftsmanship, but I just don't feel as though I have found the hammock for me. (Probably should have ordered a left handed Blackbird.) My wife has decided to camp with me, which throws another angle on my decision.

I can't imagine going back to ground, but I have to admit I thought to myself it would be cheaper and easier for me to just buy an ultralight 2 person tent or a couple of bivys and live under the Superfly.

I'm anxious to try the Bear Mountain Bridge, but I am also curious about Clark's NX models. What makes them any different from any other hammock? Do they lay the same, or is it all about features and fabric quality?

I went straight to the top when buying a Hammock,
so can't say about the others or compare them either . . .

. . . that being said, the CJH are all about features and the fact that they are all in one unit.
You don't need anything else, 'cept Under warmth if cold weather camping.

Speaking of that, I think I watched a video of you today with a Z-liner and some DIY pocket pads. Which made me all the more interested lol.

    How tall are you?
I'm just average (5' 10") but I've found a long gathered end hammock to be most comfortable for me.
The one I've been sleeping in for a few years now is 11' long but more narrow than most at 48".
But another thing I use regularly in mine is an Exped Down Air Mat (DAM), softly inflated. I understand that not everybody wants to use an air mat but with past injuries I find it heavenly.
I sure hope you find something that works for you.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Sounds to me like you may need to make a DIY hammock

That's hard to answer, because it wasn't that I disliked either of them. Just found them to be less than ideal. I sleep every night on a Tempur-Pedic and sometimes I get out of it and sleep in the floor or in a Recliner in Lay-Z-Boy position. When I am in bed I usually sleep on my left or right side with my arm straight out under my head as my pillow, and my bottom leg straight and my top leg bet. Or on my stomach.

The only thing I can say I really didn't like was I felt like in order to lay fat I had to lay pretty much in one position. Also if this makes any sense at all, In the Blackbird I felt like I was always sitting with my back to the door. That's why I said, that maybe I should have gotten a left handed one. After all, I am a southpaw.

What I loved about both- I loved the shelf, I loved the adjustable webbing, I loved the room of the footbox and in the bottom entry Hennessy I loved that I could lay pretty flat on both diagonals and that setting it up was a breeze. I may find that After I try the other options out I may even go back to one of them.

I sleep on my stomach and sides in my HH explorer deluxe. I have sinus problems that require me to sleep in multiple positions. I learned to sleep on my stomach from my wife. My nose clogged, I'd snore, she'd put an elbow in my ribs. I have a Tempur-Pedic as well and only sleep on my stomach. Sure hope you find a solution.

If you get a chance, check out an ENO doublenest. I love the way mine lays, but the weight (18oz.) made me look into the DIY factor. I made my rig the same size as the ENO out of 1.1 oz ripstop and shaved about 6 ozs.
    Just something to consider.

Definitely a big difference between the Eno DN and the HH Explorer but I love them both. I'm about your size and can't sleep on the ground. I haven't found a hammock yet that I can't get comfortable in and now own 5.
