Yeah AZ! Looks like a fun trip. Nice to have water around.
the weather in the Valley is starting to cool off.. this is the time when the floodgates of opportunity start to open. within the next month, highs will be in the mid eighties, and you'll find hundreds of places to go below 5000' - i'll be moving to Mesa soon, and be within 20 minutes of the Superstitions, Goldfields, Usery, San Tan mtns. Closer as well, to the Pinaleno's and other SE ranges. We should get together and hike sometime!
Welcome to HF!
tLOL, well...even if it were possible to hang from a cactus without it it falling on you and killing you very painfully(which I doubt) it is, if my memory serves me right, at least a 50,000 dollar federal fine and possible jail time if one is caught damaging a saguaro cactus and it is not a life or death situation. Now while sleeping on the ground might be a life or death situation for most of us here on hammockforums I doubt the Arizona Game & Fish dept. would see it the same way. There is however plenty of trees up in the forests once you get out of the desert. And it doesn't take too long to get to them either. It was only a 2/1/2 hour drive up to Christopher Creek from Phoenix where those pictures were taken at. And parts of AZ even get snow in the winter lol.
The weather is getting nice FAST here. Much better than last years really late fall startup. I'm in for a fall hang.
apples at Reavis Ranch will be peak ripeness in 2 weeks. just throwin' that out there.
Yes! A fall AZ hang. I'm in.
