    Hello Hammockers!

    Hello hammocking world!!

I am fairly new to the hammock world. About two years ago I traded out my tent for this contraption. I have only been on two 'overnighter' outings using my hammock as a sleeping system. Other than that, I hang whenever I have a chance to... although, having to battle the midwest weather, my hangs are too far and few between. I have recently gotten back into the 'swing' of things.

I am looking to improve my setup and am welcoming any suggestions anyone has for me =) I have been looking into expanding my collection with an insulation system, although, the more research I do, the more confused I become.

As far as gear goes.. I currently own a Treehugger doublenest hammock and I absolutely love it! I have no complaints thus far. I am using the Treehugger straps for suspension.
When I first purchased the straps one of the loops was sewn poorly and when I went to hang, the strap broke. My hammock/straps were weighted for about 500 lbs and weighing in at, well, much less than that I contacted the company. Without any questions they sent me an whole new set of straps. To this day, they have held out without question. I suggest anyone do business with them as they have provided me with excellent customer service. Also, as their name goes, they are environmentally friendly. =) (always a plus)

Now that I've rambled about myself and system, I look forward to talking with and sharing/gaining knowledge with this great community.

    Happy hanging!

    Welcome!

I compiled a short break down of hammock camping and the different components to help you out here:

Helps save you time searching the forums for any specific area.

Also, I highly suggest reviewing Shug's videos as he gives a great break down.

Read/youtube all you can and then go out and play in the woods.
