Looking for Speer No Tangle Guyline But Reflective?

Anyone found anything similar to this?

Basically I like the daytime viability of the orange but want the night time viability of reflective.

So far I've found Lawson Glowire and Kelty Triptease to meet those wants.

After reading reviews I'm most interested in the Lawson Glowire, but I've heard others having problems with the core slipping and not melting together with the cover...(similar reviews for the triptease).

What do you do if melting doesn't work? Do you have to tie a knot in the end? What other options have you guys found that are similar to the speer line but are reflective and what are your personal thoughts of the Glowire?

I use it on my tarp. I just added a bit more melt to the equation and the core and jacket have stayed together. I don't worry about the side guylines since they are on permanently using linelocs. This means they have a knot on the loc end and a bowline is tied to the tarp end

I've got the glow wire, I haven't had the slippage issue yet but what I generally do is push the outside sheath back, cut off about 1/8 inch of inner core, re-stretch the sheath and then apply heat. The sheath melts back to the core in a blob and I've found it stays together.

I'll have to keep an eye out for it letting go. But MAN can you see that stuff at night.

Was looking at those linelocs last night....how you liking those?

Glowire- I knotted and heated the ends I cut. The core is "slippery". I like the Glowire, fast shipping from Lawson. I also like the orange reflective for tarps, food bags, and hammock zippers. My wife says I have a thing for the color orange...it must be my Tennessee upbringing!

Yep! Line locs ( got mine off of the Hammock Forums store ) with the high vis line Lawson sells. Bowline at the tarp tie downs and the end that goes thru the line loc gets an overhand knot. I put the bic to the ends but with the 2 knots so what if they are frayed they ain't goin nowhere. Nice set up if I do say so!

Anyone ever try a taught-line hitch or rolling hitch instead of the linelocs, on the glowire?

Is there a reason why the linelocs are so much better?

Does it just depend on the type of rope?

It's what I use but only because I haven't ordered the line locs yet. Need to get a couple items from dutch too, or a figure 9 from anyone.

The line locs do the same thing that you can do with the Taut-line however, you won't find yourself tying a line loc wrong once you've put it on like I just had to tie a couple taut lines couple weekends ago. Oh sure, tye them till I'm blue in the face at home. Got out to the field and after a bit finally remembered having the app on my Iphone. Thanks Grog!

Knots are free and weightless. Modern conveniences cost but are, errr, convenient!
