Obmit:
Thanks for the weather update and is looking like and absolutely fabulous weekend for the hang. Also looks like we will get a little rain the first part of the week as well which will keep the creek running.

So, what's the consensus on the meal deal? Do we want to try and have a group meal at base camp Saturday night? I would kinda like to stretch my legs a little and maybe hike in a little further for Saturday night if others are game. I will have my new pack and would like to test it out and see how it rides. Although I am game to participate in a group dinner as well if that is the general consensus.
Bigbama, is the plan to setup a base camp back on the creek where we did the first hang, or setup in the Turnipseed camp are itself?

As far as the group dinner, I think its still up in the air as of now.......Mandydawn and myself will be base camping on this one. I was planning on setting up the camp around the creek due to the fact that I have no information if turnipseed will be open that weekend. It closed last year during hunting season.
If others would like to hike out on Saturday feel free to do so, I may venture on some of the trails during the day but will be returning to camp for dinner on Saturday night.
I learned the other weekend that I could make a grilled chicken marinated in honeymustard with bacon covered in melted Havarti cheese as well as cook some tri-color wax/green beans medley over the open fire and garlic mashpotatoes FBC style to make a great meal in the woods. I am going to try again on this trip!!!! If anyone would like to join us please let me know and we will make enough servings.
The reason for the trip is so folks can get together and meet, see different equipment and enjoy nature in all of its splendor.

Darn, I will be so close that weekend, Defuniak Springs, FL, but have to visit the parents and spend time with them. Grrr..... and the vision of "grilled chicken marinated in honeymustard with bacon covered in melted Havarti cheese as well as cook some tri-color wax/green beans medley over the open fire and garlic mashpotatoes FBC style" has gotten my mouth a-watering!
