    TTTG Switchback Layer(s)

Can anyone speak to the TTTG SB "Original" double vs single? I'm 6' 180lbs but I'm looking for the flatest (side sleeper) most comfortable hang. I realize the single 1.9 is plenty strong, but does it get just as flat as the double? Also, can anyone speak to the taffeta liner? Is this noticeably softer?

According to the website, 1.1dbl vs 1.9dbl is only a 2oz difference.... so at this point it's more about the single vs double layer for me.

    Any input would be great.

In addition to strength, the double layer gives you a tad bit more warmth underneath and, most importantly, more protection from mosquito bites.

I prefer double layer anything. I have been bitten by mosquitoes through single layer hammocks before (even through the single layer portions of certain double layer hammocks - WBBB there's a spot between the zipper and body at the top head end).

I just got my 1.9 DL.

I feel it "supports" you more than the single layer (I was able to lay in a 1.9 SL for an afternoon).

The SL I feel stretched a bit more (granted I'm 260 lbs., so that may have had something to do with it also).

    YMMV

I have the 1.9 SL netless SB and both 1.1 dbl SBLH and 1.1 dbl SB.

I'm 6' and 200 pounds. I think I can get flatter in either of the 1.1 dbls. Not a lot of difference. If weight is the main concern, go light. All are EXCELLENT.

Thanks shane. I think the 1.1 dbl would be an easy choice, but for me personally, I'm not overly excited about the green/blue they have in stock. The 1.9dbl is brown and the TTTG website says it's only 2oz more....? Could this be correct?

Can anyone comment on the taffeta liner? Does it make a difference?

    Thanks again.

Haven't seen the green or blue. All of mine are brown.

The taffeta liner in my 1.1 dbls is MUCH more skin friendly than the 1.9 fabric my single layer is made out of.
