I have a poncho liner I cut in half to make an UQ and TQ for my son. He is still short enough that the this will fit him, and he doesn't go with me when it get's real cold....at least not yet. However, I want to add a layer of IX to both pieces to give it a little more warmth, so I was just going to sew the layer right onto the PL half by trimming around the edge with some grosgrain. My question is, should it sew a layer of ripstop or something on top of the IX to protect it, or just leave it exposed? Opinions please.
