I'd be interested. I'm off Friday, October 7th and wanted to camp somewhere close for a couple nights. I was originally thinking about the Loess Hills, but I don't want to drive 4 hours.
I hammock camped at Brown's Hollow in June. I walked up the whole way but have thought about parking at the parking lot close by next time. I'm in North central Iowa, so it's only a couple hour drive for me.
October 7 weekend would probably work for me too. Just gotta clear it with the 'boss'. Mojoe-glad to see you might be able to go along! O.K. , Doody, Whadaya think? Maybe a mid day start on the 7th to head over? I'll carry the marshmallows, if you bring the cast iron and cans of gravy.
Seems like there is enough interest to proceed here. Oct 7th is fine with me. Hoping some of our MN, WI, IL etc brothers will chime in for a date that they like. I have a few extra hammocks if there is someone who would like to hang but isn't outfitted yet. I have an extra UQ and various pads etc as well. So what do you think Hanging Yankee, kc7fys, Fronkey, Shug, Jerry W, Kehlopolis?
I'm interested as well, depending on dates. I'm running the Chicago Marathon Oct 9 so that weekend is out for me, and of course the northern hang the following weekend. Don't change dates just for me! Oct is always busy

I'll be in Georgia Oct. 5-15.
November is always good....and colder!

Whooooo Buddy)))) All Secure in Sector Seven
I have the Northern hang the 14-16 of October and will probably do some deer hunting on the weekend of November 4-6.
But, after that I'm wide open for a trip to Iowa. Hope the timing works out.
Fronkey
Iowa hang? Yeah, count me in too. Never spent much time on the "East Coast" of the state. PM me with a date and place. I'm game to just drop everything and bug out from a suburb of Ames.
I'm not available until the end of October or November.
I don't know what everyone thinks of this but... I've spent the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving up there every year for the last 15 years. We'd have the park to ourselves and it'd be nice and chilly. I would recommend a little blaze orange.
I don't want to hijack this thing so I'm just throwing this out there.
