I'm watching this thread for information. My grandpa in Cedar Rapids, (95 and not showing signs of slowing down) said the Yellow River area is nice. I may re-locate our North Shore hang for Mid October to this warmer location if y'all have lots good to say. Hike quality, hang quality, generally, is the location decent for three nights. Enjoy!

I'm still probably going to go on Oct 7th - 9th since I have the 7th off. I'm game to go again later too. Fairly short drive for me.

I might be game for October 8-9 with a return trip in November. Gotta procure some extra insulation if I am going to keep up with you hard core types. Hope I don't need a pulk (although I have makings for that!)

Weather report for this weekend is excellent! Highs in mid 70's low in mid-to-upper 50's. No Rain! I'm game for sat nite 8/9th. This is at Yellow river state park? I've read a lot of negativity about hammocks in state parks. My only concern is if this is permitted. Anybody hang up in this park before? And where specificly do we meet up, or camp? I've never been over on the "east coast" area before. Lookin forward to meeting some folks.

I'll be there the 7th, 8th, and 9th. Couple more from Mason City might be there Saturday night too. They've mentioned it over on the new thread. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=39938

At yellow river state park. I'll be camping at the Brown's Hollow site. I've never heard of any issues hammocking there.
