Jim - looks great!
Humidity down finally? Bugs?
Well guys, I do a ton of camping, trail running, hiking and mountain biking alone. Not necessarily by choice, it's just that my job and crazy life don't lend well to companions. A couple years ago I geared up for myself and the wife, but she teaches, only gets 2 personal leave days a year, and weekends are so few and far between. I tend to grab trips mid-week, usually in connection with my job. I've sure seen some sights and the time in the woods refreshes the soul, but occasionally I wish there was someone along to share the experience.
Last nights camp, hammock clinging to some Pacific Silver Firs near the pacific crest.

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.
Geez, why do you guys hog all the scenery? Will trade you some oak/hickory for that.
Yep, Missouri s now cool, less humid and closer to bug free...
Something I wrote to my wife last time I was out in the bush:
Contentment is the quiet realization that your animal needs (food, shelter, warmth) are taken care of. Happiness is being able to share that contentment with somebody else.
Quiet time in the woods is good for my soul, but I do wish you were here.
I ride a recumbent.
I like to HAM it up on the CW.
I use Linux.
I play go.
Of course I sleep in a hammock!
Rug.
Hang On!
