    DIY G4 Pack

I just got done with my DIY G4 Pack (slightly modded) from Questoutfitters
Attached are some pics and the final weight is 13.75oz

In the pics it has my GF's 3/4 length sleeping pad which will be replaced with a Wally blue foam pad cut to just add support.
Also after not really liking the draw cord i switched that out for a roll top closure.

    Enjoy.

nice job. It looks interesting. It would be nice if you posted a pic of the strap side so we could see how the shoulder straps attach. The kit folks don't have one.

The 3rd pic is the shoulder strap side? Looks like a self-inflating pad in the back panel pocket with shoulder straps coming down each side....

Nice job. I like the orange. Not my favorite color, but effective if you hike during hunting season.

I should have taken some pics while putting it together. The whole shoulder strap assembly is under the fabric holding the pad under another piece of fabric(3rd picture). Its not that hard just take it one thing at a time.

That's nice work. I actually dig the orange a lot.

Looks good! I made one a while ago, and it was a good introduction to sewing. It's too **** big for me to ever use for backpacking, but I'm planning a smaller pack based on the design.

Good work, Z. I made two G4s--one in forest green for me and one in purple for my daughter. Like you, I'm not wild about the top closure in the kit design. I added some lashing points on the bottom, just in case. I also swapped out the straps that come down from the shoulder straps for something a bit heavier; I found the first ones to be a bit slippery when loaded. It's plenty big for me but light enough as well. Hope you enjoyed DIYing. May it be first of many more items to come.
