For winter, haven't found anything that beats the Superfly.
For summer, I carry much less tarp than either of those options, but the Superfly works just as well for a chunk of extra weight. If I could only pick one tarp, it would be a Superfly.
    Trust nobody!

Superfly, very light weight for what it offers. The doors are great for keeping the wind out and rain.

Superfly - It is heavier & takes up more pack space...but it keeps you and your hammock + gear (pack, shoes, and other items) dry. Porch mode is great for summer weather, then pin it tight to the ground for bad/cold weather. It is my 1-tarp quiver.

I went with the BMJ because it was the right price for what I wanted (3 season tarp). It also seemed to have the best coverage for the price. Down the road, I'm hoping to make my own winter tarp and even further down the road, make my own super ultra light 3 season.

Of course, I'm a total newb, so I may not be making the best choices right now.

So I now have the Clark Vortex for my NX-250 (no doors)

I live in Northern Minnesota & will be doing fall trips that could become snow, I have seen snow in late May in the BWCA.

I am looking at the Mambajamba & the Super Fly, I think they are the same size.

Mamba has the panel tie outs that I want, I would purchase the door kits for it too (wondering if the removable doors would be an advantage) don't need them keep them packed.

The Super Fly comes with the doors attached (disadvantage ??? or advantage ???) I am not a DIY tarp person, so would have to have someone put the panel tie outs on it.

I don't see where I could order the Super Fly with the panel ties, can I get them installed from supplier???

I will keep the vortex for summer trips, what should I get & why?

I have the mamajamba with door kit and panel pulls. Love it. I like the idea that I can leave the doors home when not needed.
I also dont think I would buy a tarp of this size with out the panel pulls. Thats just me.

    Per the website:

The superfly is out largest tarp. It’s based on the dimensions of the Mamajamba, but with the doors built-in. The doors are similar in size to the removable doors of the Mamajamba. It also comes standard with 4 panel pulls.

Superfly... I’ve only had mine a few months. It’s great! Maybe I won’t need the doors in the summer, but I’m sure my camp-mates will enjoy them... they’re tenters and don’t always carry a tarp so I’m sure they’ll park their butts underneath the extra-large porch a few times in the near future when the spring showers start. I won’t mind carrying the extra few grams to help some friends better enjoy the outdoors.
