Ditto! Looks like you caught a record heat wave, is that right?( if lows about freezing can actually be a heat wave) But at least you didn't have to battle for survival ( I guess ), always a possibility in Oct!

Yep, I think some big storms are heading that way right now. I've always worried about getting caught on the wrong side of Jack *** or Texas Pass with no ice ax or crampons after a bunch of ice comes in. Or my car getting snowed in at the trailhead delaying me leaving by a few days or worse.
You just barely got out with out a challenge! There is now 11" of snow on the ground in the last 24 hours at Big Sandy!

We had 6" in hotel parking lot this morning, mountains were covered with the white stuff...sure was a beautiful sight... In denver at REI right now, stopped at seirra trading post wyoming...this is getting expensive...LOL...
Where is the hotel, Denver?
Yep I know, every trip I take I find myself in an REI or other outdoor store and invariably spend money.
