What planet is that? Nowhere on earth looks like that! Looks more like a painting.

No need to tell you to have a good time. You’d better do a trip report, Buster!

That looks like Fremont Peak, about the middle of the range. But we have only gone into the Winds to the west of Fremont one time. It is really spectacular up that way, but trees are kind of scarce, if memory serves. At least once you get in very close to Fremont in the Titcomb basin area. But I wasn't yet a hanger, so I probably didn't pay much attention to if, despite a scarcity of trees there were still enough trees here and there to get by.

On one horse packing trip, I went in at Boulder Lake Lodge. All other times I have gone in at Big sandy. I love it, it is my favorite place on Earth!

At pic from my hammock camp at Clear Lake , just above Big Sandy Lake:

At Lonesome lake in the Cirque of the towers:

Going in Oct, eh? WhooHooo, take some insulation ( ) , that might be an adventure! Here is me coming into camp June 27, 1985

and the next morning(a young me on right) trying to warm up and drying bags after that chilly night:

Sense I have not been in a couple of years, I will really be looking forward to your report and living vicariously through you! You might want to take some bear spray, Grizzly are becoming more common in the Winds, even as far south as Big Sandy.
