Those of you receiving packages from me

You are probably asking why they are taped up so much.
Well, it's because I once received a Priority Mail box that was wet and trashed beyond recognition with most of it's contents gone and a letter from the USPS that basically said, "Sorry for the damage. Better luck next time."

Sorry for the cussing and swearing that I know you'll do when you start to open my packages. But it's better than receiving them wet and already opened.

Just thought I'd mention it. Now I'm off for a hike.

It's always a breath holding moment when I open a bomb proof parcel that contains nylon and down. I know I shouldn't use a blade, but sometimes there's no other option.

young 'uns will take this as a caution to do what they can to retain all their teeth. Or maintain strong and sharp finger nails.

Too late for me, I'll ask OP, when I order from him, to put the contents within in a recycled plastic FedeX, DHL, or UPS mailing bag.

All three of my daughters have spent considerable time overseas, so I have learned to be very thorough when preparing a package for shipment. In fact, it's common for me to line the box with a trash bag to keep out both moisture and insects, then to tape every possible seam on the box for the same purpose.

Sure makes me appreciate our postal system in the USA, once I had to deal with foreign ones.

I like getting packages in tyvek envelopes myself. Then I can reuse the shipping container for something useful.

That's the same way my mother used to mail me things in Germany.
