I have a low clearance sedan so I wrote this trip off as soon as I saw road conditions to the trail head. It sounds like an awesome place for a hang...I just cant get to it. At this point I have family in town and wont have time for another hang until after the new year...so...

My bags are packed and I leave early Friday morning. If the dates change, I will not be able to make it. If the area changes, I'm good.
That said, if the group thing gets more people to show up by changing the dates, then by all means change the dates.

D, pick a spot and I will meet you there Friday evening.

    Okay, I'm calling it!

This hang is going happen this weekend, but we're changing locations to Upper Pumphouse Wash. I know a lot of people can't make it this weekend, so we'll have to tighten our belts and make plans for a bigger spring hang.

This site has easy, drive-up access for a sedan (that's what I drive). A short hike down from the parking area to a nice camping area near the river. Not far from the camping spot is a beautiful waterfall. There are other places to hike and explore around the canyon for those interested.

@MuseJr -- This location will cut about an hour off your drive if you still want to come down this far. It's super easy to find and get to. Easy parking.

For those who want to come, here's the directions:

Take Forest Road 237 off of Highway 89A (about 15 miles south of Flagstaff). The road turns sharply left as soon as you get of 89A and then goose-necks around. Less than half a mile from 89A you'll see some pull-outs to your right. This is the parking area. It's a popular pull-out area for trailers so the parking is easy. A little further down the road is another pull off with a road that goes south and down into the canyon. If you have a truck you can drive this road. This is the road that turns into a fire lane down to the canyon where we will have the group hang. It's a short hike, less than half a mile.

    Here's a Google map: http://g.co/maps/4whzg

Here's some photos from one of the hangs I did there with my boys:

Thursday night, I plan to hike past the waterfall pool to the junction of James Canyon and maybe up James Canyon a ways to camp since I'll be solo. I'll hike back up to meet anyone who comes up Friday at the group spot above the falls.

    WEATHER:

Prepare for cold and wet! Woohoo! Lows in the upper 20s, lower 30s.

This map (below) is a general topo map for the entire pumphouse wash hike. We will be camping just above the fork with James Canyon.

Bravo dejoha. Excellent choice & outstanding directions. I'll be there sometime Friday morning. Looks like there may be cell service there at least at parking.

I may be first one there after you. Look for a very big white 4X4.

As an envious bystander, I want to say nice job organizing this trip! Can't wait to see trip report pics. Wish I still lived in Tucson because I'd be right there with you. That Secret Canyon area is a jewel. Have fun everyone and happy hangin!

I'm here at pump house wash. I decided to park on forest road 237 because the pull out was a little muddy and I want to make sure I can get out before the storms hit. 3G cEll service.

Hope you have a good hang tonight, stay warm and dry...

Let us know what the overnight was like.. I'm still trying to juggle things around to head out there in the morning.
