Hang Angle

Could some one tell me why the HH is hung horizontal and others such as the Warbonnet is hung at an angle? yet the ridge line remains horizontal on both when you lie in them.

The structural ridgeline in the Hennessy gives the illusion that the hammock is near horizontal. The ridgeline is actually forcing the hammock to keep a hang angle. Once you get into the hammock you'll drop a bit and see that you've got a good sag.

I have a Hennessey, and it's not hung horizontal, but at an angle, so not sure just what you mean. Got a photo or link to a web page?

HH's instructions on the bag that the hammock comes in indicates that you should hang the hammock tight....this is not the way most(cough...nearly everyone here) would say to use the hammock and there are accounts that even Tom H. does not hang his that way. The instructions that WB and others that are members here advise to hang with roughly 30 degrees sag is the preferred and recommended method. The ridge-line helps to a degree with getting the hang consistent but it's not a 100% sure thing. Try both ways and you will see that there are changes in the feel of the hammock between both methods.
