The romag.com link warbonnetguy mentioned looks like the ticket. Sew on so it's ready to go. My only concern is like above that the fabric may wear prematurely from friction due to the magnets. I think it could be a cool idea to use to "batten down the hatches" with your tarp. IE place magnets on bottom of hammock and tarp tie outs, so when a bad storm comes you could just untie your knots, and kinda pull the tarp up under you. Some variation may be more appropiate.
