Where Are you going mate? Have been a fair bit of kayak camping. Go kayak fishing & camping at Fraser Island again in early November. Can't wait.

Would be very happy to have a look at your tropical and UQ.

    So let's meet.

I'm thinking about Jerusalem creek, I hear it's nice and quiet and hardly anybody goes there and it opens up at the beach so it should be a good spot if I can find good shelter from the wind.

It's a long weekend too so I'll probably go for a paddle on Monday if you want me to bring down my UQ for a look, I'll aim for high tide whatever time that's going to be.

Thats no good, but good for me because all the QLD people will be at work and have their stinkboats in the garage so I can paddle without being run over or smoked out! But I think the Brunswick River gets pretty busy on public holidays anyway (and its school holidays)...

I work monday to friday but I have weekends off and the occasional wednesday so maybe we can do it next weekend, I think its the 8 & 9th?

Maybe you should break free of the attachment to the tarp by using this modification:
    http://www.whoopieslings.com/Videos.html
Watch the last video on the above page.
With this you can use any tarp you want and break freeeeeeee!!!
I did this and it works great!

With the NX 250 the tarp is always independent of the hammock. No need..

I'm happy to see that the comments are positive. I am giving serious consideration to the NX-250 with the Z-liner. Has anyone seen the camo one in person? Does it look good? I like to blend into the woods I just cant decide if I like the pattern or not..

    Thank you in advance

Sorry for the delay in posting...I don't frequent the forums as often as I used to. Here's a photo of my NX-250 in camo, so you can get an idea.

Can't comment on the z-liner, since I don't own them/it. I use a Thermarest inside when it gets really cold (by my standards).
    Sorry for the threadjack...
