I need a pillow to avoid stiff neck, but not a very big one. Mostly just for neck support. I like this one, partially inflated.

Cocoon synthetic, small,,,weighs 6.5 oz,,and washable, you can find them pretty cheap on the net. Lots of pillow makers tho with our cottage industry guys..I just happen to have a couple for backpacking before I took up hanging. I find you do not need or want a very large pillow in a hammock..at least me and the wife don't.
I use a small Kelty camping pillow now, that doesn't compress as much as I'd like -works great for hanging in the back yard. I actually bring along the pillow's stuff sack when I'm camping and just stuff it with a fleece.
I can get fairly comfortable without a pillow in a hammock, but it's definitely more comfortable to sleep with one.
