Just Received my OES MacCat Standard!

I just got my OES MacCat Standard in Black SilNylon. Pretty psyched about it. I know silnylon is the heavier then cuban or spinnUL but it feels very light

Everything was top notch and Brian got it out to me fast along with acquiescing to a special request

When I got it the silicon seam sealant was still a little sticky and the tarp was stuck to itself in many places. I carefully unstuck it and no damage appears to have occurred. There is a tiny amount of silicon on the tarp where it got stuck but that's no biggie. I'm not sure if the silicon didn't cure long enough before the tarp was stuffed into the sack or if it was really hot on the FedEx truck.

I can't wait to get outside in the rain hehe.

    Thanks Brian!

    Sean

You'll love it. I've got the same thing in Spinn and it's a very well-made tarp. There are no issues with the silicon on the tarp or it being sticky. Hang it somewhere where it can fully cure and you're all set.

I loooove my standard in black sil. 10.25oz aint to bad. Its a great size tarp, not to much, not to little. My seam sealant is still sticky after 10+ uses. And I let it sit out for over a month in my basement. Doesn't bug me though.

I really love my Deluxe, Brian does good work, mine still sticks a little but its not a problem.

I let mine "dry" for about 6 hours and the silicon was "dry" as a bone. Not sure why it was so sticky when I received it. Maybe it didn't have time to set. Maybe it was a hot UPS Truck.

Anyhow, I'm getting ready to set it up. My 1st go for suspension is going to be a 550 Cord Continuous Ridgeline with a #0 S-Biner on a Bowline at 1 end and a #0 S-Biner on a Prusik at the other end. The tarp will be attached with a couple Prusiks & more #0 S-Biners.

The guy out lines & Prusiks will be made from some Red 3mm Utility Cord made by BlueWater.

    Any thoughts?

I use a similar setup, but I use Kelty triptease cord with a knotbone one end and a figure 9 on the other. It works pretty well and 50 ft of cord set me back about $15

    # 0 s biners? Strong enough? No criticism, just wondering since I am looking for some new binder/hooks too for tarp setup.

I used to use 550 paracord with some clips I got from a boating application (prussiks to adjust the tarp). I changed the cord and the hooks are too big...(heavy).

S biners and Figure 9's are relatively easy to get around here (Holland - The Netherlands [Europe]).

Dutch ware (the Hammock Dutch!) is on the shopping list too, but for now that would only make Customs happy with import taxes
