I grabbed a sleeping bag at Value Village. I didn't notice that it had vent zippers in the body until I got home. I thought they were a cheesy feature until the first night I slept under it. I was too cold outside of the bag and too hot inside of it. So I unzipped a vent. It was just right. Later on I got cool and zipped it back up, snuggled back down and went back to sleep toasty warm. When I get around to making a top quilt I'll probably incorporate the vents into it. Being a woman of a certain age, being able to adjust the insulating value of my top quilt to meet my erratic climate control is a blessing.
