I followed your suggestion of putting my foam pad between my bivy bag and sleeping bag in the hammock. I tried it out in the garage and it looks promising. The pad helps keep the bag in place and the bag helps keep the pad from slipping around.

Okay, I just wondered if the Pugsley would be on site. I'm almost finished with a set of frame bags for my Fargo, and this would have made a good first-run, but it looks like I won't have them done in time anyway. Hopefully I'll make it up there and we can talk a little bikepacking.
