Welcome from near Denver. To answer your question, I'm gonna try to head up in 2 or 3 weeks and get my first real hang in.

Where are you planning on going? I do have some more gear to get. Does REI rent anything appropriate for hammocks?

We'll be up near Glennwood Springs. A friend of mine is hunting and I'm just along for the ride/camp.

I don't think REI rents anything other than packs that would be that useful, but I've never actually rented from them before.

Sleeping pads and bags are rented at REI; about the only hammock related items I can think of right now.
I'm pretty good about helping out locals. If you need to borrow something, shoot me a PM. Odds are, I have it.
    Trust nobody!

I'm from Denver and going up to Guenna Pass (above Georgetown) next weekend (10/16) with the Colorado Mountain Club. Check them out: http://www.cmc.org/. Am just finishing my first DIY Hammock and will try it out next weekend. Everyone I know in the Club wants to try a hammock, but don't want to drop a couple of hundred bucks to buy one.

Much appreciated. I could use some help just figuring out a list of gear I need yet.

Interesting and I'm free that weekend. Do you have to be a member?

Welcome from NC. I used to get out to CO more often, but haven't been in a few years.
If you don't know where you're going... any road will get you there. (I hope hanging is better this way!)
