    Hello from Michigan

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself a bit. I am a long time backpacker, writer and photographer.
I guess I am a slow learner, but I have just embraces hammocks. Being a tarper, it was the natural way to go. But for me it had more to do with comfort and GERD, yes, that wonderful affliction when you lay flat, your stomach acid decides to take a ride up and out. It is painful, gross and a real problem for me, that is until the idea of a hammock came to mind.
Sleeping on the ground has now become a thing of the past.
    Thanks and hello to everyone.

Welcome aboard from Florida. Since going fulltime I've probably only hit the Tums a few times. Gerd doesn't seem to be much of a problem anymore. Along with a lot of other sleep problems I used to have. Enjoy the fun!
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
