The Palmetto Trail-Lake Marion Passage Hammock Hang

    Hey Guys,
Hope things are going well in HammockForums.net world. I have another cool trip to share from this weekend. Me and Terry_Dodson did a 6 mile hike of the Lake Marion Passage in Pineville, SC…and well, if you know us ……you know we had to hang up the Grand Trunks and watch the trees. One was a Grand Trunk Nano7 and the other was a Grand Trunk Ultralight. It was OCT 1st, 2011 and it was the best day ever to hike and hang hammocks so far this fall season!!! The temp was about 75 degrees all day and just heavenly when we were swinging from those hammocks. Hope you guys enjoy!!!

Looks sweet! I have been looking for a section to take my Daughter out on, this one might be the ticket! Glad you had a good hang!

I am also thinking of doing a longer part of that trail this winter when it's more "bug free", lol.

He said 6 miles but i think it was closer to 7 It was pretty cool. We did run across one snake but it scurried off quickly. I think it was a little 3 or 4 foot black snake, slid quickly into a hole unde a stump. There was a hawk that followed us for about 4 miles near the end. We heard some shooting (hunting) and even saw a houd dog on the trail of something twice. So be careful if you go.

I did not have any bugs bother me at all, even when we were hanging in the hammocks. It was only about 70 for the hi tho.

Great hang. The adjustable ridge line is a nice idea.

Thanks for the pictures and trip report.

    Sweet deal.

There was a bunch of us down at santee state park for a hang. The lake was wonderful and the days were lazy.
Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.
