    Need some input

My hammock just gave up the ghost this weekend and I need to replace it with something new. I am a big fella six three and three fifty. So not all hammocks will work for me. I have tarps so that is not needed. I just had my back cut on so money is a little low right now. I just look and HH has the safari with no net for 49. How would this work out without the net and how hard would it be for me to add the net to it? I am looking for your input because I know you all are Wealth of information. Any info you can give would be great.

    Thanks,
    Bigbogg

A Safari no-net seems like it would be the logical choice for someone of your size. The only problem with the Safari is there are things that don't fit it...like aftermarket netting. Making your own giant tube of netting wouldn't be that difficult, but that assumes you don't mind a little DIY.

That's a great price on an extremely comfortable hammock. Since money is tight at the moment, I'd say pick it up. You've got winter for the next few months and the netting won't be critical. You can always get another rig come spring when, hopefully, the finances aren't pinching as hard.

Good luck on your recovery. Back surgery just doesn't sound like any fun at all to me.

To further that... since the bugs will be gone soon you probably wont need a net for the rest of the year. You could use that time for a DIY project or contact Papa Smurf at www.mydiygear.com on making you a bug net for around $55 out of Tulle.

a Double layer with a wide pad or reflectix might be in order...

1.7oz fabric sounds like it'd hold you just fine.
