You're well on your way to a great conversion. I love it and can set up faster than ever before. I want to get some figure 9's now but don't want to pay just as much for shipping as the figure 9's cost. Guess I'll just have to wait until I can get back up to Atlanta some day on my way to the mountains. I have some friends going that way later in May but I don't think they are planning on stopping by REI.

That's how I got the ones I bought for HC and I. All I had to do was pay a very small shipping fee since they weren't in stock at the time at the Charlotte (Pineville) REI. Mind you, that's about all my tiny little dividend paid for, but it was nice, nonetheless.

I knew these things were a good suggestion, but I resisted.
I kept checking / looking at them, but yet I resisted.

Finally, I could resist no more. I was in a ****'s yesterday & saw them, I got 6 for $10.22, when I got home this morning I put them on my tarp.

OMG!! I wish I hadn't resisted so long They cut my tarp set up time in half. AND, I can adjust tension SIX WAYS, in SECONDS.

BB, in your photo... do you just leave the 9's attached to the line? Ive had a pair that I picked up at Academy Sports for a while, but have not tried them yet...

I've left mine on the line and have taken them off. You'd need to experiment and see which you like. They can be hard to move along the line sometimes which is a good reason to put them on at the desired spot. They have the potential to damage your tarp if your not careful with them when packing your tarp.

the small is plenty strong for a tarp, i hung my hammock from one of the smalls to see how much weight it would hold, bent, but didn't break, i later broke one by bouncing in the hammock, the rating is very conservative, they will hold more than the advertised safe working load.

they have em at my home depot
