I have done a fair amount of car camping (big tent, air mattress, mini-van full of gear) with the family, but no primitive camping since the Boy Scouts, about 40 yrs ago.
I came across the Trail Journals site about 1.5 years ago which rekindled my interest in getting back into the woods and is also where I learned about hammocking. I have been a member of Hammock Forums for a few weeks and have been soaking up the knowledge that has been so generously provided.
Shug: your posts and videos are very informative and entertaining - I would love to catch your act if you are ever in NC.
Ramblin Rev: I have had a sewing machine for about 10 years and I learned more from your posts and videos in the last few weeks than in all the years previous. Because of you and the poor economy, DIY hammock camping gear is my new hobby.
Knotty: Thank you for the Gathered end hammock instructions, this will be my first project.
