Since I'm new to sewin-err, thread inject-, no, I'm gonna call it what it is: sewing.
Anyway, since I'm new to that I laid myself out some projects to learn to sew as well as (hopefully) make some useful gear. My first project was a gear loft hammock. I figure making a miniature hammock would be a good way to learn to make a full sized hammock without the worry of screwing up a bunch of fabric.
So without further ado:
Keeping the fabric rolled made it so much easier to work with
Sadly, other than hemming the edges, there weren't a lot of interesting places take pictures, but here's the whipping detail:
I pulled the edges out a bit before whipping in order to get a decent bath-tub shape to hold the gear in.
Here's the finished project:
Here's me in it, to show off how there's still plenty of "headroom" between my hammock and the gear hammock:
Anyway, thanks to everyone who posted DIY stuff in here because reading through a bunch of projects helped me make this in only an afternoon with few mistakes.
Also, I can't help but think:
"Yo dawg! I heard you like to hammock, so we put a hammock in your hammock so now you can hammock while you hammock!"
