Hello, all. I am new to this forum, and I am new to hammock-ing. Can't remember ever sitting on or lying in a hammock. My 17 year old daughter has been driving me nuts to try hammocks out. So, today, I went to Wally World and purchased 4 yards of 59 inch wide ripstop nylon (uncoated). The bolt end didn't say what the weight was, and it felt sort of heavy to me. I got home and weighed me, then me with the material on our digital scale. After the math, the weight was 2.44 ouches per square yard. I'm kind of heavy so that may be a good thing. Anyway, that material is going to become my first hammock. I have thoroughly enjoyed just reading through this site and the photos are great. I am a fan of camping and photography, and I think this site is A-OK with me. I appreciate the opportunity to join you.
