the "Gone in 60 seconds" hammock design

I needed to do the same thing for rafting. I have used this setup for my last two river trips. I think the Drysil bags are 25L. I leave the bottom quilt attached to the hammock, with the top quilts and pillow inside. I stuff it from one end to the other, into a dry bag. There's really no way to incorperate the tarp into the same bag with the down because it always seems to be damp, whether from rain or just a heavy dew.

Nice! yeah, the weather shield, small tarp has me concerned, and it would have to be removable for sure. I'm thinking the tarp could just drape over top of me to the sides? or a type of diamond fly where it only takes a single stake on each side, or with a pocket to stuff a rock inside to keep it from dancing around with the slightest breeze?

Have you seen Dutch's Bridge back pack? His hammock is his back pack, and his back pack is his hammock. May take a little more than 60 seconds to pack, but it's all done at once.

nope, hadn't see that! i'll have to look for it ....... sounds cool! would be great for Dura-Hiking! (like I'd be doing on an upcoming trip).

Did you check out Jacks 'R' Better Speed sacks? You could put the wet tarp in a second speed sack.

This is pretty interesting .......
and instead of going to the tree
with the end of the small tarp/weather shield,
I could go to the hammock suspension set on one end,
and some sort of quick connection at the other.
It could be shock cord or a built in ridge line
clip to other end of the hammock and back onto itself
coming to the middle where I'd sit into the hammock,
sit down compress the hammock with my full weight,
then cinch down the tarp line,
then if a diamond fly a single attached stake for each side,
or a rock in a pocket , or whatever.
All this I think can still be deployed in 60 seconds,
pack up might take a bit longer but not much.
This would also be great for Dura-Hiking the "dacks"!

or am I mistaken? this is a speed bag for the hammock instead?

so after thinking about it for a bit .....
I think the speed bag idea might just work out.
One for the hammock, UQ, TQ
and another for the weathershield/minitarp.
It can still stuff into it's own drybag.
unless the minitarp is soaked, then it stays out.

I'll have to build a plastic sheet model of my mini tarp,
then I'll cut up a sportsman's guide tarp I got,
it's pretty useless for anything,
and once I got the pattern I'll fab it into the minitarp.
I'll also do the cocoon thing to it.

I'm also hoping that the weathershield/minitarp
can also turn into a ground sheet if I ever have to go to bivy mode.
the sportman's guide material I think would be good for this,
but I'll have to test it out on wet ground first.

I also think that instead of my dual layer 1.7 black bird
a single layer might be better for this?
Lighter, less bulk, and just fine for summer,
where I'll do most of this kind of usage anyway.

I'll also use my dutchclips for this .....
and later get a lighter UQ and TQ setup (for summer operations).

yeah, the ideas are coming together!
