Well then, I am confused now. Which is probably my normal state. From what I have gathered here, you want something with at least a 250# breaking strength for a ridgeline. I believe that is about where my mason line is. Even the 1.75mm Zing-it, is only around 400#, right? If I'm laying in the hammock, and can bend the line 90*, I would think there is not enough force being applied to snap it. But, what do I know, I am still just a noob, trying to soak up the wisdom here like a sponge.

If you're ridgeline is still loose enough for you to bend it then you're good. The problem arises when people pull the ridgeline taught before loading the hammock, which can easily occur on longer hangs. So long as your two trees are always close enough together and you hang at proper angles, you should never have issue with the ridgeline being too tight and therefore it should not break.

Mason line has a breaking strength of around 150#. Knots will reduce that to closer to 100#. In the past some here have done the math. Maybe a search will find it but I think the general consensus is a 500# rating for the structural ridgeline.

It is not tarp "skins". It is one long python/snakeskin. I got the idea from forum member SteelerNation. His Youtube name is amjustduane. You can see it there. The dimensions for mine is around 17ft. long. I like to pitch my Noah 12 on a square, but it's design is really to pitch on a diagonal. I decided to make the skin 17 ft. in case I ever decide to pitch it that way.
