Kids top/under quilt

This is a little bit off topic, but related. When I did UQs for my kids I made them an adult 3/4 length, which ended up being full length for the kids. This way there is less fiddle factor for keeping the feet warm. When they grow more, they can decide if they want a longer quilt or not. They won't outgrow them very soon either.

I picked up a Jarbridge for this reason. I figured my 6-y-o can use the 3/4 and it'll fit him fine for a long time.

try as i may, i did not find the thread (on bpl?) about the 'elephant's foot sale' that was posted. and elephant foot is basically a 2/3 top quilt/sleeping bag used by mountaineers to work in conjunction with a puffy down jacket. would be a good, yet expensive (most are of high quality, nunatak, western mtnrg...etc) shortie, kids bag.
in fact, the western "tamarak" is the item that first gave me ideas of making down quilts.
