Welcome to the Hang! From Mobile, AL.
I've been shopping for material. Bouncing between 1.1 30d and 1.9 70d. Looked at the cuben stuff (is that for hammocks too or just tarps?)
Last night I remembered... I HAVE A PARACHUTE! I've seen that Trek Light uses parachute to make hammocks. Well, I'm gonna give it a shot if I can start on it this weekend.
If anyone has tried the parachute material and know it's a bad idea, please give me a shout before I hurt myself. Thanks.
welcome from Greenville! good luck on the DIY hammock. I just finished my 1st DIY project (an underquilt) and now i'm trying to think of something else to make. be warned. DIY is addicting.
Haven't finished the DIY... Been a bit busy. BUT I did order a HH for my son and a WBBB for myself. Merry Christmas to us... Looking forward to getting the hammocks and hanging out.
Not giving up on the DIY, but will probably just use it in the backyard on non-buggy days.
Actually had our second hang this past weekend. This time we were in a treeless field. Thanks to all of the suggestions and sharing of odd hanging solutions we used a fence and the rear end of our van to make it happen. It worked great!
Thanks for all of the suggestions and support.
