Best bit of advice I can give you is if you get his tarp hook, splice that thing into the line. You'll never find it if you drop it in the woods. I dropped in my home and still took me nearly half an hour to locate the little bugger. Amazing something so small can work as well as it does. I right down hammock gear genius he is. More akin to a drug dealer though, he makes more stuff and we all go running to get our grubby little hands on it. Poor fella couldn't even keep his new invention in stock long enough to take some to MAHHA, you bunch of savages.

lilricky - that's a neat picture. Thanks for posting it.
Yeah, gotta love the hiker archive.
I had just walked the entire state of VA in the RAIN. That was 5 weeks of not being able to sit down. That is amazing you found that, Do they have the archives posted on the web?

He refused to carry my full pack for me at the Dolly Sods hang, so I can't agree with all of this. I'm not sure what his problem was - maybe it was the midgets with cucumbers .

well as long as we are tripping along memory lane, for a good read, spend an evening with Dutch's AT 2003 through-hike trail journal
For those of you who have met "Loser" and his remarkable guitar playing at MAHHA, he makes a guest appearance in the journal.
How can you not like a guy who knows with confidence that "Everything naturally goes my way"?

Meet Dutch at the MAHHA ... here's an exert from my trip report ...
