    Hanging in CA state parks

I've only ever hung in national parks here in California. Really, the last time I even camped in a state park is the first day I stepped foot in CA when I moved here 5 years ago - before I discovered hammocking.

What seems to be the consensus with hanging in California State Parks? We're thinking of going to one in Santa Cruz county next weekend, and I'd rather hang! Don't know which park yet though. Truth be told, I'd rather head back to Yosemite - only been there 3 times in the last 11 months - but the family out voted me 2-1

I've been to Picacho on the Colorado river Lake Silerwood. State parks are not my first choice. Some are realy bad. Crowded and noisy, nasty restrooms. Alot have problems with gangs.

Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

Camped in a lot of parks in California and have never been approached about hanging in any. Had some Rangers once admiring my set up even. I don't think you'll have any problems.

Time to find a new family . I kid, of course, but that IS pretty rough--State Parks in CA are pretty dicey, and one of the three on the coast I have ever been to didn't even have trees to hang from... just a series of cement slabs, sand, and brush. Hope for the best (bring your hammock), but expect the worst (having to sleep on the ground).

If the worst case scenario lays itself before you and you're a glass-is-half-full kind of person, then think of it, not as a sacrifice, but as an opportunity to demonstrate your love for those closest to you. If you're a glass-is-half empty person, then in the middle of the night (because you can't sleep) you can register your displeasure at being out-voted by tying their shoelaces into a thousand teeny-tiny knots .
You're gonna need a bigger hammock
