Smokies Fly Fishing November 2011

We had a nice fishing trip planned that turned into a hiking trip.
Since we had the cold snap just before the trip (complete with snow the night before), the water temps stayed in the low 40's. That basically made for some catatonic trout. Not even a bite!
We'll be posting some pics and videos in the next day or so, but recently caught fish will not be featured.

I guess that is what happens when trips are planned that far in advance. Looks like this week will be much warmer. I'm going to have to go hit the streams just to make sure I did not lose my mojo!

I think the last time I tried to fly fish in GSMNP was 10 or 20 years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was at the "bridge/road to nowhere", this time of year, and not one bite for anyone. And it was COLD!

Camp site 74 is a really nice site BUT, it is a cold sink carrying cool air straight from Clingman's Dome right across the camp.

It would be awesome in June or July.
