    North Alabama

Hey guys! I'm a 21 year old college student about to go on my first adventure tonight. I'm really stoked. I'll be hanging out in Warbonnet Blackbird. Any of you guys that know of good spots in North Alabama, please let me know. Also, I'll be moving to Nashville in January and would love to keep hanging when I move. Any advice is more than welcome!

Welcome to HF from Bama...........You can look at the Bankhead National Forest/Sipsey Wilderness area around Cullman. Never been to Bucks Pocket or Monte Sano but I hear they are nice places.

Monte Sano is a nice state park, but I was still tent camping when I was there last...so can't remember how much hammock appeal it had.

    By the way, welcome!!

Congratulations on joining the Bama bunch of hangers! I think someone mentioned the Sipsey, and I'd agree.

Are you going to the 16th ave area? Just guessin' 'cause of the name...

In any case good luck with the hammock and the move.

Welcome Benjamin! I wish that I had discovered hammocks at your age. I spent many a night on the hard ground

Welcome! I grew up in NE AL and have camped many a night in woods around Cheaha Mt. The views should be great this time of year.
