Java juice packets-deal of the day

    http://www.outdoordaily.com/

    $35 for 40 packets

I haven't used it, so I am not sure if this is any good.
Looks to be an easy way to make coffee on the trail.

It is an easy way to make coffee, but unfortunately it has no aroma, which actually detracts from the taste. Don't get me wrong, it does have a coffee taste, but more like a coffee-lite flavor.

I was gonna ask if anyone tried it, seems like a buck a pack isnt bad if to pay for taking in out with you, but if its not very strong that doesnt seem worth it.

These were a great idea before Starbucks Via came along. I think Via tastes better, and actually smells like coffee.

The only bonus to Java Juice is that you can mix it with cold water if you want, and from what I remember that tastes better than the Via iced coffee version.

The Java Juice that I tried tasted OK, but quite a bit stays in the packet unless the user pours water into it to wash out residue into his cup. Messy and not really convenient. Liquid anything is heavier than powder.

I'm not a huge coffee snob or anything but those Via packets are really great, especially on a cold morning in the backcountry...

+1 on the VIA. The Java Juice just doesn't cut it, IMO.

My opinion on coffee correlates roughly to my opinion on women - I prefer good over trashy, but I'll take trashy over nothing at all.

Of course, I married well outside my league, so I only have to worry about the quality of my coffee, now ...
