Yeah, today walking out was great. A couple of friends and myself were up at Middle Branch Lake last night. The wind was phenomenal. Kept the fire roaring. No trouble getting it going even with the rain pouring down on us. I love my birchbark and the inside of wet wood is dry! I too saw a lot of hunters' trucks along the roads by state land. Spring sounds good for another attempt. I am out every month even through the winter.

Your welcome. It felt good to get out, all nice and comfy all night. Now maybe a little winter camping.

Sorry I didn't slow down a little more but I put too much distance between me and North lake. There was no cell service up there so I left. The Spring sounds great, maybe in the southern Adk or south west, more central for everyone.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourself. Next time.

Nice pics Veto. It was a bummer about the weather. That looks like a pretty spot though.
It seems to me September would be the perfect time to go up there. Quiet after summer, but not yet hunting season, and the fall foliage starting and yet still quite warm at night.
