OK shooting for a late Thursday night arrival...at Bandy Creek Campground....that is the correct campground correct? Might have two more in tow. I think Poof and Jimmie Neutron want a taste of the BSF so my 17th group HF hang attended looks to be popular.

Are we all going to be on the same permit, and how many are limited per permit?
If you have a definite camp site in mind for Friday night, I may have to make an evening arrival and a later departure. If we're just going to be about 8 miles in, I should be able to cover that in a few hours.
We can get one at the office at Bandy Creek Campground. I guess we need to know if everyone is going in at the same timeBACKCOUNTRY CAMPING PERMIT FEES

25 to 30 persons

Roche, put me down as probably. Still have to work out the logistics with the Mrs., but have her blessing to go.

Hangnout posted the "hiking permit fees", which will be in the $1 a person range. From the Big South Fork doc, the 8 mile mark will be on the John Muir Trail, before we cross the wooden footbridge at mile 9.6. Recalling my 2008 hike the trail intersections are marked and the trails blazed - can anyone confirm this?
BSF is about 2 hours from Knoxville - let's thow out a hiking start time for Friday morning. Does 10:00 am sound reasonable?
BSF is about 2.5 hrs from where I live then I have to add in the time change. I am guessing the 10 is eastern time?
From what I remember the trails are marked ok. I would bring a map with you just in case.
